RWP: MH-60 Service Life Modernization (SLM): Tailorable Architecture Leveraging Open-systems for Navy (TALONTM) – Flight Critical Avionics Segment (FCAS) and Digital Backbone (DBB) Development and Integration

PROJECT NUMBER

N00019-25-RFPREQ-APM299-0716

DESCRIPTION

The MH-60 Service Life Modernization (SLM) project intends to modernize MH-60 aircraft based on the need to provide the fleet a sustainable, modernized , and adaptable platform capable of meeting emerging threats, ensuring continued operational relevance, and reducing risk for future programs. SLM plans to implement a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) with a focus on Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) best practices and requirements. SLM will be executed in a phased Middle Tier of Acquisition (MTA) pathway leveraging multiple Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs). The SLM effort is a joint effort with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Additionally, SLM will reduce risk for the FVL (MS) program by establishing a common avionics and mission system architecture that will be portable between MH-60 and FVL (MS) platforms.
