SUMMARY:Industry Day for Public/Private Approach to Modernizing Navy Testing Infrastructure
DESCRIPTION:The Navy has an urgent need to modernize its existing research\, development\, test and evaluation (RDT&E) infrastructure to keep pace with the growing complexity of its aircraft\, weapons\, and sensors and the increased demand for these unique assets.  For example\, the existing anechoic chamber located at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) in Patuxent River\, Maryland\, is vital to the development of Navy and Joint aviation systems.  Given capacity constraints\, the chamber is booked around the clock\, seven days a week\, for the next 5 years.  This bottleneck and backlog seriously impact the Navy’s ability to rapidly field and deploy new warfighting capabilities needed to counter threats from current and future near-peer actors.  There is not sufficient Government-only funding available to add chamber capacity and the traditional acquisition process takes far too long.   Therefore\, NAWCAD is leveraging its OTA with NASC to prototype an innovative Public/Private approach and resource strategy to deliver a Contractor Owned Government Operated anechoic chamber at the speed of business. \nThis in-person event is open to all NASC members\, interested commercial facilities engineering and construction companies\, financial institutions\, state\, and regional economic development entities\, and the private equity community to provide the Navy with a robust forum to present its technical requirements for the chamber and the associated lifecycle business case.  This event also serves as a platform for collaboration between industry\, potential project investors\, and the Navy. \nDATE:\nFebruary 28\, 2024\n \n \n \n \n \n AGENDA:\n08:30 – 09:30 Registration\n09:30 – 11:30 Government Briefings\n11:30 – 12:30 Lunch12:30 – 16:30 One-on-one Sessions16:30 – 18:30 Networking Reception\n \n \n \n \n \n LOCATION:\nUniversity System of Maryland at Southern MarylandSMART Building 344219 Airport RoadCalifornia\, MD 20619\n \n \n \n \n \n RESERVE YOUR SPOT:\nRegistration has closed for this event.\nFor questions\, please reach out to: Kimberly Blancuzzi / kblancuzzi@cmgcorp.org
